What is Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA)?
PEA (Palmitoylehtanolamide) is an endogenous saturated fatty acid derivative. This is a food component which has been known of for more than 50 years and was first isolated from soybeans, peanuts, and egg yolk. In the body it is synthesized from palmitic acid and it takes place in membranes of various cell types, produced on demand and acting locally. It works within the ECS (Endocannabinoid System) and is structurally related to the bliss molecule.

What studies have been carried out?
A study carried out by the Nutraceuticals & Food Science Journal, examined the effect of LipiSperse®. It coats the surface of the PEA molecule, reducing the hydrophobic nature of PEA and acts as a dispersing agent and likely responsible for the increase in gastrointestinal absorption, potentially due to the prevention of agglomeration. In the mentioned study, Levagen+® was able to maintain a consistently higher plasma concentration compared to the standard formulation, making it a more sustained anti-inflammatory treatment.
What are the benefits of Levagen?
Levagen+® with added LipiSperse® technology, reduces surface tension allowing particles to freely disperse in watery solutions and/or liquid formats.
